When Enough is Enough…
Low Rent Dates

Have you ever accepted a dinner invitation, with the stipulation being, that it is a place where you can dress up? Well, I did just this, and I got just… something else. I sat there thinking, well it is my first time here, and while I can hear very clearly everyone else’s conversation, there must be a light at the end of this tunnel. I visually cased the place for all of the ‘exits’. I felt like I was in a ‘twilight zone’.
My date asked me what I wanted to order, I let him do the ordering. The food was good, as were the drinks, and they came at a timely manner. Don’t get me wrong this place would have been perfect for a different occasion, an occasion which didn’t involve my presence.
However, I became silent over the meal, I couldn’t put my finger on it, until when my date asked me if I liked the place. I stared off into the distance, while my mind wandered, somewhere over the rainbow where troubles melt like lemon drops high above the chimney tops, that’s where you’ll find me…
Once my mind registered, I came to the conclusion that I had just fallen victim to a ‘low rent’ date. There was nothing more to be said. When it was time to order dessert, I finally put foot down, and requested having dessert elsewhere.
